Continuous Movement, Conditional Bodies
Continuous Movement, Conditional Bodies
Continuous Movement, Conditional Bodies is a performance and installation project by Iman Tajik, developed during his residency at MeetFactory in Prague. Surrounded by highways, railway lines, bus routes, and flight paths, the site is shaped by constant movement—vehicles and bodies passing endlessly through space.
This environment of uninterrupted circulation became central to the work. While movement appears natural and free, it is not experienced equally by everyone. For many, the ability to move across borders is restricted, delayed, or denied. In this context, mobility becomes a political condition rather than a given right.
Working across performance, video, sculpture, and installation, Tajik explores borders not only as physical lines but as lived experiences—felt through waiting, control, and the regulation of bodies. The project asks how borders are formed, who they benefit, and how they shape everyday life.
Continuous Movement, Conditional Bodies reflects on a world in constant motion, while drawing attention to the unequal systems that determine who is allowed to move freely and who is not.
